So today was the day that the reports were handed out. In which the children could find out their new class teacher. After all of their speculation and discussion it is finally time for them to find out this crucial information.
To some of their disappointment they were not allowed to open the envelope and many parents were not opening it at the door at home-time, to many of my children’s disappointment.
On passing many of my colleagues on the way out I was informed, by my new class’s current TA, that many of the parents opened the letter at the door and one parent even cried. Yes, I have already made a parent cry, without even meeting them! All because they were convinced that their child would have the same teacher for a second year running. I am sure that the reason for this is that this will only be my second year in the school and that my name is not well known, but really that is not a great start with parents is it?
I hope that everyone else’s report hand out day went smoother. Let’s hope that there are no more outbursts to come. Speak soon J.
Our reports went out too. Not with class teacher note in though. We have parents evening next week and our head didn’t want them to moan about who they had/didn’t have before transition day!

We don’t have a parents’ evening now. The parents are allowed to arrange a meeting if needed, but we don’t have a set evening. We have already had two this year. I don’t see the point in having one now. Our transition days start on Monday so maybe it is done this way so the children know where they are going to.

We’ve had two as well. Goodness knows why we need the third. I don’t really have much to say!
